- 3Report to CEOP (ceop.police.uk).
- 4Preserve chat history in place — do not forward.
Missing child
- 1Call 999 immediately.
- 2Check location-sharing apps only to inform police.
- 3Contact trusted adults in your network.
- 4Prepare a recent photo for police.
Threats or blackmail
- 1Do not pay. Do not send anything more.
- 2Block the account from a safe device.
- 3Report to platform + CEOP + police (101).
- 4Preserve conversations; screenshot in place.
Image shared or requested
- 1It's not the child's fault. Reassure them.
- 2Do not forward or download the image.
- 3Use Report Remove (IWF / Childline) for under-18s.
- 4Contact CEOP and the platform's reporting tools.
Hacked account
- 1Sign out all sessions from a safe device.
- 2Reset password + enable two-factor authentication.
- 3Update the recovery email and phone.
- 4Check for forwarding rules and connected apps.
Location exposed
- 1Turn off location sharing in the app.
- 2Enable Ghost Mode / hide from map.
- 3Review who has access to real-time location.
- 4Talk with the child about who can see them.
Suspicious adult contact
- 1Block and preserve the messages.
- 2Report on the platform.
- 3Report to CEOP.
- 4Reassure the child — they are not to blame.
Child afraid to speak
- 1Do not press for details.
- 2Offer a trusted adult or Childline (0800 1111).
- 3Show the young-person help page together.
- 4Reassure: telling an adult is brave and helps.
Please do not
- · Confront the other person online.
- · Publicly name or accuse anyone.
- · Forward intimate images — even to report them.
- · Delete conversations before reporting.
- · Take vigilante action.
- · Store illegal imagery in cloud drives or email.
