Two-way promise
Family Online Agreement
Kids get promises from grown-ups too. Tick what feels right, add names, print it — then sign it side by side.
I promise…
- I'll come to a safe adult first if something online scares or confuses me — I won't be in trouble.
- I won't share my full name, school, address or location with strangers online.
- I'll pause before I send. If I wouldn't say it face-to-face, I don't post it.
- I'll keep chats and gaming out of my bedroom until I'm 13.
- I'll tell an adult before I download a new app or accept a friend request from someone I've only met online.
- I'll charge my phone outside my bedroom overnight.
I promise…
- I won't take your phone away as a first response — we'll talk first.
- I won't read your messages without telling you why.
- I'll put my own phone down at meals and at bedtime.
- I won't post pictures of you online without asking first.
- I'll keep learning about the apps and games you love, without judgement.
- If something goes wrong, I'll help you fix it. You won't face it alone.
