The 30-second livestream leak

A live stream from a bedroom can reveal a school uniform on a chair, an Amazon parcel with your address, and a Wi-Fi router flashing your street name. Here's how to close the loop.

What a stream leaks in 30 seconds

  • Room décor → age, gender, income bracket.
  • Uniforms, PE kit, textbook covers → school.
  • Window views → neighbourhood.
  • Parcels or bills → surname + street.
  • Voice + accent → region.
  • Time-of-day → routine (great for adults with bad intent).

Before you press Go Live

  1. Set stream to Friends / Followers only until age 16.
  2. Turn off location tags and precise geo.
  3. Blur or replace the background (Snap Camera, OBS, native TikTok blur).
  4. Remove anything with your name or school on it.
  5. Agree "no responding to money requests, gifts, or DMs during the stream".

Livestream red flags to talk about

  • Viewers asking to move to Snap / Discord / Telegram.
  • Requests to "prove you're a real girl / boy" with dares.
  • Gifts, stars, tips coming in with a request attached.
  • Anyone saying "you're mature for your age".
  • Adults joining then muting camera and mic.

During and after

  • Keep a moderator (an older friend or parent) in chat.
  • Ban and report obvious adults immediately — don't argue.
  • Save chat logs after: platforms delete them fast.
  • Debrief the same day: "Anything weird? Anyone push you?"
